Makes me 3x faster, no exaggeration
I tracked my output before and after switching to Cursor. Commits per day went from 4 to 12. Lines of code reviewed per hour tripled. The AI doesn't write all the code, but it handles the boilerplate so I can focus on the hard problems.
Cursor Editor Wins Me Over
I've been utterly amazed by Cursor Editor's spot-on code suggestions!
Cursor Editor Made My Life Easier
Efficient AI features in Cursor slash my coding time without draining the budget
My most important tool
Simple as that. Cursor is the single tool that has most improved my daily work. Every feature feels intentional. The team ships improvements weekly. It's what GitHub Copilot should have been.
Great for App Code, Meh for Infra
Cursor is excellent for application development. For infrastructure work, Helm charts, Ansible playbooks, Terraform modules, its suggestions are often outdated or use deprecated API versions. It doesn't understand that a Kubernetes manifest isn't just YAML. it's a contract with a running cluster. Still my daily driver, just not for infra.
Hobby
Limited agent requests, limited tab completions
The IDE every developer will be using in a year
Cursor is to VS Code what the iPhone was to flip phones, same form factor, completely different experience. Tab completion that reads your mind, multi-file edits that understand architecture, and composer mode for ambitious refactors. I can't imagine going back.
broke my entire project
used composer to refactor one file and it edited 6 other files i didnt ask it to touch. had to git reset the whole thing. lost an hour of work. maybe im doing something wrong but thats a terrible default behavior
